Very often 2D cardiac imaging provides an inaccurate visualization of vasculature or tissue. The 3D Coronary Angiography (3D-CA) visualization of the coronary vessel tree provides insight into torturous vasculature with minimal foreshortening compared to 2D cardiac imaging. These images can help clinicians select the most beneficial viewing angle of the lesion or bifurcation and the right stent length. Or uncover overlapping branches when looking at a bifurcation.

3D coronary model to choose most beneficial viewing angle

During the procedure, a 3D model of the coronary vessel tree can be created from rotational angiography. This 3D model can be used to select the most beneficial viewing angle throughout the examination. That means the proper projection can be determined without using additional X-ray dose. Once the desired viewing angle is chosen, the stand automatically moves to that position.
