The 110% international job

"I first started at Philips as product engineer for set-top box products. Then I moved to supply chain management. A couple of years later, I did segment marketing for the smart card contact reader (used for high security applications like electronic ticketing in public transport, road tolling, airline ticketing, access control, metering to PC network access). Now I drive the Near Field Communication business into consumer and computing applications.

 

Because our customers and colleagues are located everywhere, the job is 110% international. Typically, you start with conference calls with Asia in the morning and end your day with conference calls with North America. My greatest challenge is selling these new technologies - and dealing with complex situations that require intellectual skills and strong teamwork.

In my free time, I like to play football and participate other sports, such as skiing. I also enjoy cultural events, like music festivals and theater. The company offers us a lot of leisure activities - everything from sports to culture. That makes it even nicer to be part of the Philips community."
