From internship to full-fledged career

I studied management and organization at the University of Groningen, which was established some four centuries ago. Groningen is in the north of the Netherlands. It's a great place to study, and has a nice old city center, has a wonderful atmosphere. Especially when you're a student!

Part of my requirements for graduation was a 6-month internship. I looked around and landed at Philips. It was a great internship, so when they asked to interview for a position in the Domestic Appliances product division, I didn't hesitate. I got the job, and 5 years later I am still here!

As a Dutch woman in the USA, one of the challenges I face is working in a different culture - which is a very positive experience. Philips Oral Healthcare is a young player within the Philips organization. Our division has a very entrepreneurial spirit and is growing rapidly. That requires the rapid maturing of the entire organization. It's fascinating to be part of such growth!
